Snapchat come under fire for Rihanna and Chris Brown domestic violence advertisement

Snapchat had come under fire for approving and promoting  a domestic violence advertisement featuring Rihanna and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The advert, which was part of the app’s Would You Rather? game, asked users whether they’d prefer to “slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown.” Social media users were quick to condemn Snapchat for the message, prompting the company to take it down and issue an apology.

“The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines,”  “We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware.”
“We are sorry that this happened.” said in a statement by Snapchat spokesperson.
