Drake calls out his dad on Instagram over claims he lied about their relationship to sell records
Drake has finally responded to the claim made by his father that the rapper lied about their relationship to sell records.
Drake's father, Dennis Graham, recently appeared on Nick Cannon's Close Conversations show on Power 106 where he talked about his son using their relationship to sell records.
Dennis told Cannon that Drake had fabricated the stories about him being an absentee father in order to benefit his career.
"I had a conversation with Drake about that. I have always been with Drake," he said. "I talk to him if not every day, then every other day. We really got into a deep conversation about that. I said, 'Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me? This is not cool.' He [said], 'Dad, it sells records.' Okay, well cool."
The rapper took to his Instagram on Tuesday to address his father's claims writing,
"woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that's willing to listen to him. It's sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that's the people we are stuck with...every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept".
As fans know, Drake has often rapped his childhood in his music — specifically his dad’s absence on the track “Look What You’ve Done” from his album Take Care.
