Jennifer Lopez’s ex-boyfriend, David Cruz dies at 51

Jennifer Lopez’s ex-boyfriend David Cruz has died aged 51.

The singer’s high-school sweetheart David passed away in Mount Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan on Saturday from heart disease, according to TMZ.

The publication also talked to David’s longtime partner, Isa, who paid a touching tribute.

‘He was kind and loving. He never held on to anything and was always very open,’ she said.

‘He was a devoted father, he helped raise his step-son who is now in the Marines. He loved the Yankees and Knicks.’

She continued: ‘He loved going to the theatre with me. My favorite moment was family date night, because it wasn’t just special for me but for the kids as well. He always made sure to end things with an “I love you.”

J-Lo and David’s relationship began in 1984 and they began dating when she was just 15 years old.

As her celebrity grew, so it was to be that her relationship with David shrunk, until the pair called it quits in 1994.

J-Lo has not yet publicly commented on his death.

She is currently engaged to retired baseball ace, Alex Rodriguez, and has previously been married three times before to Marc Anthony – with whom she has 12-year-old twins Max and Emme – Cris Judd and Ojani Noa.
