South Korean pop star and actress Sulli, whose legal name is Choi Jin-ri, has been found dead at her home a month after she sparked controversy in conservative South Korea by accidentally revealing a nipple on Instagram.
Sulli, 25, had previously suffered a huge amount of online abuse in what became known as the 'no-bra' scandal after she repeatedly showed her nipples on social media.
It is reported that the pop singer then suspended her music career due to the abuse she had received.
Sulli was found dead at 3.20pm after her manager went to her house when he couldn’t contact her.
Korean police said that they are working on the assumption that she may have committed suicide.
SM Entertainment said in a statement: ‘We apologise for conveying such sad and unfortunate news. Sulli has left our side. We cannot believe the situation now and we are just filled with grief.
‘For her family who is grieving after the sudden news of her passing, we earnestly request that you refrain from writing speculative articles or spreading rumours. We express our deep condolences.’
