Beyonce announces release date for new album, ‘Renaissance’

 

Beyoncé has revealed the title and release date for her next studio album, "Renaissance" with a 16-track set to drop July 29. 

The superstar began listing the music and products on her website Thursday and several streaming services, including Tidal and Spotify, also announced the Beyoncé release.

Beyoncé tipped off fans that something important was coming when she removed her profile photos across all her social media platforms last week.

The 28-time Grammy winner teased in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last year that new music was on the way, saying, “I feel a renaissance emerging. With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again,” she told the magazine at the time. 

"I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible." 

Beyoncé briefly opened up about her creative process, saying her albums often take a long time to come to life.

"Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion and healing that I feel in the recording studio,” she added.

"After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was 9 years old. Yes, the music is coming".

"Renaissance” would be the follow-up to 2016’s “Lemonade,” but the artist has been hard at work of late, featured on rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s remix of “Savage” and opening the 2022 Academy Awards with a performance of her song “Be Alive,” from the film "King Richard."

In 2019, she curated and produced the soundtrack album “The Lion King: The Gift,” for the remake of “The Lion King.” The song “Black Parade” from the soundtrack won a Grammy in 2021 for best R&B performance, Beyoncé's 28th Grammy.
