Chrissy Teigen deletes Twitter account
In a several-tweet thread to her 14 million followers, the cookbook author, 35, shared her decision to step away from the social media platform on Wednesday evening.
"Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends," Teigen began a Twitter thread.
"But it's time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that's the right time to call something," she wrote.
"My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don't is too much for me. I've always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I'm just not."
"My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn't sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters," she continued. "Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!"
Continuing her thread, Teigen said that she has been "deeply bruised" over the years and encouraged social media users "to know and never forget that your words matter."
"I have made my mistakes, throughout years and in front of hundreds of thousands, and been held accountable for them. I've learned an incredible amount here," she said, adding that she has "said f— up s— and killed myself over it as much as you killed me."
"I'm just a sensitive s—, okay!? I don't wanna be this way! I just am! But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do. I also hate you."
Teigen didn't say whether or not she'd be discontinuing use of her other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, but both were still active Wednesday evening.
The Lip Sync Battle host took a hiatus from all social media last fall after she suffered a pregnancy loss, but returned in late October.

Credible sources told Daily Nigerian that the wedding ceremony will take place “in the next two to three months”
"Preparations are on top gear for the grand event. As the tradition provides, the parents of the groom have met with the parents of the bride to express Yusuf’s interest in marrying Zahra,” the source said, pleading anonymity.
The source added that the event would have taken place earlier but for the absence of the groom’s mother, Aisha Buhari, who recently returned from a six-month medical trip in Dubai.
"Now that his mother returned a few weeks to Ramadan [Muslim holy month], it is clear the wedding will take place after Sallah holidays,” the source added.
Zahra Bayero is said to be currently studying architecture in the United Kingdom. Yusuf graduated from the University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom in 2016.

Actress Chacha Eke says she has healed mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually after battle with bipolar disorder
Recall that in October 2020, the actress released a troubling video where she said her marriage is over but she's leaving with her "life".
This had sparked speculations that there has been a case of domestic violence in her marriage.
However, days later she emerged to put the blame on herself. She said she's been diagnosed with bipolar and she erupts whenever she's pregnant.
The actress' brother and some of her colleagues did not buy her explanation and still made efforts to help her. But she refused their help.
She called her brother out and said she hasn't seen him in years.
She also said she's not in good terms with her family and they can't speak about what goes on in her marriage ans that as for her colleagues who insisted all was not well, she asked them to stop meddling.
Months after, she has now released a statement on Instagram to let everyone who has been reaching out know that she's now better.
She wrote:
I have received many phone calls, read lots of DMs’, text messages and emails from many concerned folks these past months. 98% of them inquiring, “ChaCha, are you okay? ChaCha, I hope you’re fine now?”....
