Unemployed in Germany faces high risk of falling into proverty report says

According to European Statistics office Eurostat figures released on today, those who are unemployed in Germany face a much higher risk of falling into poverty than in any other European Union member state.

After analyzing data from 2016, Eurostat found that the risk of poverty for the unemployed in Germany is at 70.8 percent.

The countries with the lowest risk poverty for the unemployed — all under 40 percent — were France, Cyprus and Finland.

German court ban diesel cars in city centers

Germany's top administrative court has ruled that it is legal for cities to ban diesel cars. The government opposes the bans, but is under pressure from the EU to do more to combat air pollution.

The German government and the country's influential car industry oppose the diesel driving bans.
Millions of German drivers and businesses have also been anxiously awaiting the court's decision, with many concerned about their disrupted driving routes and a possible devaluation of their vehicles.

The ruling does not determine whether the bans will be implemented, but rather whether German states, cities and communities have the right to impose them without needing federal legislation to maintain air pollution limits.

Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor cause of dead revealed by forensic report

It was earlier reported that the actress, one of India's most celebrated, died on Saturday morning of a heart attack while attending a family wedding.

 Dubai-based newspaper, Gulf News, reported on earlier today that the iconic actress was under the influence of alcohol when she lost balance and fell into the bathtub of her room at Jumeirah Emirates Towers and drowned.

The paper quoting a police official said that "investigation was still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident".

"The Dubai Police has transferred the case to the Dubai Public Prosecution, which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases," the government of Dubai media office tweeted.

A Christian group closed Jerusalem's Holy Sepulchre church

A group of Christian leaders have closed the famous Church of the Holy Sepulchre in protest of Israeli taxation and land policy 

The leaders voiced consternation with plans to tax church assets that are considered to be commercial.

"As a measure of protest, we decided to take this unprecedented step of closure of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre," the statement said. It added that the tax changes appeared to be "an attempt to weaken the Christian presence in Jerusalem."

"It is a dream come true for me" 23 years old Anahita Reubens crown Miss Germany 2018

Student Anahita Rehbein from the southwestern city of Stuttgart won the Miss Germany 2018 competition on Saturday.

"It is a dream come true for me. I could hug the whole world," she said.
The 23-year-old beat out 21 other competitors between the ages of 16 and 28.

In addition to the crown, she won a compact car, jewelry, travel and clothing for a year.
Alena Krempl (R) and Sarah Zahn (L) came in second and third, respectively.

Pyeongchang winter Olympics wrap up game with colorful closing ceremony

The 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in South Korea have come to an end with a closing ceremony that ran for about two hours.

Spectators in the stadium were treated to plenty of bright lights, various types of pop music, and even a couple of medal ceremonies.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) president then declared the Pyeongchang Games closed and called on young people of the world to gather for the next Winter Olympics in four years time in Beijing.
