Soon after the picture was released, some Nigerians did not waste time in expressing their opinions about the pictures.
While reacting to the backlash she received from Nigerians, the actress said it was expected.
"Well, as a public figure, one would usually expect such backlash. Not everyone will sing your praises at all times. Some will definitely find faults with the things you do. So it was expected,” she said.
Since her nude pictures surfaced online weeks ago, there has been a debate on whether the actress had a plastic surgery.
However, she was quick to clear the air, saying, “My body is 100 per cent natural. I haven’t altered my body by having a surgery yet. I only dedicate my time to keeping fit and watching my diet. Sharing some of the secrets of her success, she said, “It might be hard work, opportunity, and consistency. I am passionate about my job, I take it really seriously. I try to give my best to every role I’m given to play. I put my soul in it. I guess all these things play out well for me in keeping me in the movie scene. And finally, the fans love me and they are not tired of having me.”
Woman inflicts machete cuts on 12-yr-old son over missing N500
Cruel. Wicked. Heartless. These were some of the negative adjectives residents used to describe a woman, Basirat Abiodun, after she allegedly inflicted machete cuts on her 12-year-old son, Timothy Jimoh, who she accused of stealing a sum of N500.
Basirat, had accused the boy of spending the alleged stolen money on candies.
The boy, according to sources, was asleep at their Adigbe, Abeokuta residence, penultimate Saturday when Basirat unleashed brutality on him.
Attempts by neighbours to rescue the boy were said to have fallen on Basirat’s deaf ears, who threatened to deal with them, for poiking their noses into her home.
She was said to have brought out a cutlass and inflicted cuts on the boy’s head, arm and legs. A bystander forced his way into Basirat’s apartment and rescued the boy, who was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.
Concerned neighbours reported the incident at Adigbe Police Division, and Basirat was arrested.
Sources said the money which Timothy spent on candies was actually given to him by a man who noticed they were hungry. It was the money that Basirat passed off for her money and subjected her son to brutality.
"The money was actually N100. Timothy and his younger sibling were actually hungry when a man saw them and gave them the money.
"Basirat had passed off the money for hers and instead of listening to his son’s explanation, she cruelly beat up the boy and inflicted machete cuts on him," a source who did not want her name in print said. From The Nation.
Body of missing 4-yr-old found inside septic tank
Several hours after he was declared missing, a four-year –old, Oluwaposi Sobowale was found dead in a septic tank at Ikopa Tuntun area of Asero, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to sources, the toddler and his siblings were taken to their grandmother’s residence at Ikopa Tuntun penultimate Monday, by one of his father’s apprentices at the behest of their mother.
It was said that the boy’s grandmother had gone to church and the boys were left in the house by the apprentice who left to attend to a customer.
The boy was declared missing afterwards, until men of Obantoko Police Division on the advice of a resident searched a nearby septic tank where the toddler’s body was found. Sources however claimed the boy’s death was more than meets the eye.
It was said that the boy’s body was found in the septic tank which was covered, fuelling suspicion he might have been dumped there after he was killed by unknown persons.
"What baffles us is the fact that we had checked the septic tank several times on the day the boy went missing. We were however shocked that his body was found in the same septic tank the following day.
"We suspect that he might have been killed; probably his head was smashed with a hard object as blood was still coming out of his nostrils at the time he was found."
Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he was not aware of the incident. He said he would confirm from the division in charge of the matter ad get back to our correspondent. But he was unable to do so at press time.
I’m not a weakling – Obaseki warns opponents of his re-election bid
Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, has warned political detractors not to mistake his calm disposition for weakness.
Obaseki stated this when the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) National Butchers Union, Market Women, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) youths and students, held a protest march to endorse him for second term.
He also made it clear that he would respond to opponents of his second term bid with positive works, adding that ‘Never again will the food of the children be given to the dogs’.
The Governor, who was represented by Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Barrister Paul Ohonbamu, said the social contract he entered with the people in 2016 was being fulfilled across the state.
According to him: “Obaseki is a development warrior. He wants to create an alternate society where honour will be given to men and women who deserve it and not those who bought them.
“That is the society he wants to create where there will not be primitive accumulation. Where there will not be wastage.
"Obaseki believes the wealth of a state is not measured by the opulent of rulers of that state but the productivity of the people of the state. People are not comfortable with the process he is adopting.
"The process of changing the fortunes of Edo people is being opposed. It is a system that can create winners and losers in the political arena and economy market place.
"They are not comfortable because the type of politics Obaseki is playing is too sophisticated for them.
"Obaseki has said he will continue to be an agent of the people. You must see the government as your agent to do that which you desire in line with legitimate expectation.
"Those who threatened that they will let hell loose, I want to tell them that no Governor is a weakling. Every Governor can sting, every Governor can strike. We are fortunate to have a governor who is an unwilling serpent.
“This fight is not Obaseki’s fight. The people put him there. He has the legitimate votes of the people and he cannot betray the trust. The goodwill cannot be squandered.”
