Woman delivers baby after missing her menstruation for 13 years

58-year-old Mrs Dorcas Osiebo gave birth to her first child for the first time after missing her menstruation for 13 years.

Recalling how a nurse broke news of her pregnancy to her, Mrs Osiebo who welcomed a baby boy on December 13 said; 

“The nurse looked at my face and said, ‘Mummy, to God be the glory, you are pregnant. I was very surprised. "

Dorcas Osiebo said her hope was dashed after seeking for help from both traditional and orthodox medical practices.

The woman who entered menopause in 2006, also revealed her younger sister who got married after her is already a grand-mother.

She said; “But early this year (2019), I just felt in my body as if I was pregnant, but I thought how can that be especially when I have not seen my period since 2006,” she said.

“I got married in January 1984, but there was no child at all; people who got married the same year with us have children; even my immediate younger sister has grand-children,” Dorcas said.

Her husband, Mr Osiebo also said after a long period of marriage and prayer without a child he decided to depend on God for a miracle.

“But by the grace of God today, a baby boy has entered this family; that is the cause of my joy. I am very happy, thank God,” said the excited husband.

As a Christmas present for her 6-year-old daughter, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West purchased a custom velvet jacket worn by Michael Jackson to Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th birthday party in 1997.

The Kardashian-Wests shelled out $65,625 (£50,600) at auction back in October to buy the jacket.

Kim, 39, revealed the extravagant present on her Instagram stories, where she explained that her eldest daughter is a ‘really big fan’ of the King of Pop.

She said: ‘For Christmas, Kanye and I gave North this jacket, and this was Michael Jackson’s jacket that he wore with Elizabeth Taylor. North is a really big Michael Jackson fan, and we knew she would love this.

‘So we won this on an auction for Northy for Christmas and we had it like, tacked up so she can wear it.’

Kim added that they can ‘untack’ the jacket so North can keep it throughout her life, saying: ‘She is so grateful and so excited.’

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has disclosed his adamant reason behind his refusal to chase street traders off the streets of the state without making alternative preparation for them.

Makinde said his decision stemmed from his experience as a boy street trader at Yemetu, an Ibadan neighbourhood.

The governor spoke at the Oja’ba Central Mosque, Ibadan during a special prayer to commemorate his 52nd birthday. 

“Somebody said that I was quoted as saying that I would not chase away street traders without providing them with alternatives. Yes, that is true because I know the mentality of street trading. I once sold bread by the roadside in Yemetu.

“I said so because we cannot send them away until we provide an alternative for them. And we have started enforcing that. We did that at Ojoo where we asked people not to trade at the point where we want to situate our modern terminus.”

Makinde thanked the people for praying with him and wishing him well.

“Your prayers are important to me. It doesn’t matter if we have a multitude. What we have here is a quality crowd,” he said.
