Alhaji Musa Umar, the district head of Daura has been abducted by four unidentified gunmen at his residence on Wednesday night.
The attackers were said to have shot in the air sporadically to disperse the crowd and picked the traditional ruler in a Peugeot 406.
Umar had just returned from the mosque where he took part in the evening prayer when the incident happened.
The traditional ruler is the father of Fatima Musa, wife of Colonel Mohammed Abubakar, the Aide de Camp, ADC, to President Muhammadu Buhari.
