Leonardo DiCaprio saves man who fell overboard in the Caribbean and tread water for 11 hours

Hollywood actor. Leonardo DiCaprio, 45, and his friends just happened to be in the right place at the right time when they reportedly pulled a man to safety after falling from a yacht.

The heroic act happened on 30 December, when the Oscar-winning actor was on holiday with pals and girlfriend Camila Morrone, The Sun reports.

Leonardo and his entourage were on a rented boat near St. Barts when they heard that a man had fallen overboard from a Club Med yacht.

After hearing the emergency call, they set sail to help search. Speaking to People, a source said: “Leo and his friends and their boat captain decided to join the search and their efforts resulted in helping save a man’s life.”

The man had been reportedly treading water for 11 hours prior to his discovery.

The insider added: “The boat crew were happy to try and assist — even more so that they were able to help get the man to safety.”

The actor’s boat happened to be the only one searching in the area where the man had drifted. He was spotted and rescued in rough water, about an hour before the sun set and a heavy rainstorm set in.

The Sun reported the victim has been named as Victor, and was a French crewman on the Club Med vessel.
