Piers Morgan slams Meghan Markle ‘for ditching her family, her dad, and splitting Harry from the Royal Family’

Piers Morgan has slammed Meghan Markle for driving a wedge between Prince Harry and the Royal Family after the couple sensational resigned from their official duties.

In a stinging attack following the couple's announcement, the Good Morning Britain presenter said the Duchess had a history of destroying relationships and reeled off a list of those with whom she has cut ties.

He tweeted: 'People say I'm too critical of Meghan Markle - but she ditched her family, ditched her Dad, ditched most of her old friends, split Harry from William & has now split him from the Royal Family. I rest my case.'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed their intention on Instagram 'to step back as "senior" members of the Royal Family' to spend more time in Canada, where they have recently returned from holiday.

But Piers' epic multi-tweet slap-down said the couple had committed 'spiteful treachery' and 'breaking up the Royal Family after fleecing the public purse'.

Piers, who has had a long-running feud with Meghan since he accused the former Suits actress of 'ghosting' him, also referenced a quote attributed to Harry after the Duke reportedly told Kensington Palace staff 'what Meghan wants, Meghan gets' as they prepared to move out in 2018.
