Platinum Jubilee Service: Prince Harry and brother Prince William fuel rift rumours as they sit away from each other

 

Prince William and Kate Middleton awkwardly sat away from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle  at the Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving on Friday, June 3rd.

Upon their arrival, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their seats on the right hand side of St. Paul’s Cathedral, sitting beside Princess Anne, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat on the opposite side of the cathedral, beside Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank. 

Body language expert, Judi James told the Mirror William adopted a "barrier gesture" as he and wife Kate walked past the pew where his brother sat on the way to his seat. 

Judi explained: "So far there have been no ‘moments’ between the brothers to signal acknowledgement or a hint of any restoration of their friendship bonding.

"Harry looked firmly resigned to the back row here and was not sitting behind his brother as he was for the last service of remembrance."   

There has been much made of the rift between William and Harry with their frosty relationship reportedly sparked by William's concerns over Harry's fast-developing relationship with Meghan ahead of their royal wedding in 2018. 

The tense row quickly boiled over - with Harry claiming his brother was "trapped" within the royal system during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey after quitting as a senior royal. 

Since leaving the UK in early 2020, Harry has only seen his brother twice before the Jubilee celebrations - at the funeral of Prince Philip and at an unveiling of a statue of their late mother Princess Diana.
