Kevin Hart says car accident was a 'Resurrection' for him

American actor, Kevin Hart is opening up about his recovery following his terrifying September car crash.

In an interview for the March issue of Men’s Health, the Jumanji: The Next Level actor called his physical and mental transformation after the crash a “resurrection,” explaining that his recovery process has led him to “do better” and prioritize his family more often.

“I’m not trying to get back to where I was before — I want to be better than before,” Hart, 40, explained to the magazine.

“It’s a resurrection. That’s the best way for me to put it. I feel like the other version of myself died in that moment and this new version was born to understand and to do better. I’m glad this is coming now,” he added.

“I’m getting older. I’m 40. You know, this is when I’m supposed to start realizing this s—.”

The comedian also reflected on the time he spent in the hospital after the accident, which caused him to undergo emergency back surgery.

“It all boiled down to four walls,” he said. “And in the space of those four walls was my wife and my brother, my kids and my friends, all on rotation. And I got a chance to think about what matters, and it’s not fame. It’s not money. It’s not jewelry, cars, or watches. What matters are relationships. You know, the people that were helping me get up and out of the bed.”

“When s— hits the fan, you’re going to realize that the things that matter are all you truly care about,” Hart continued. “Nothing else f—ing matters.”

Hart said that the accident and his subsequent recovery time in the hospital made him realize that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

“Honestly, there’s a lot that I wasn’t doing,” he shared. “Now I’m doing a lot of little things that are important. I’m sitting with the kids before and after dinner. We are doing Taco Tuesdays, Mexican-food Thursdays, Chinese-food Sundays. We got movie night twice a week. Now I’m walking my f—ing dog. I’m picking up dog s—.”

In an interview with ABC News on Tuesday, the 48-year-old actress said she now has stage 4 breast cancer.

'It’s going to come out in a matter of days or week that I am Stage 4, my cancer came back and that’s why I am here. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways,' she said, adding: 'I'm petrified. I'm pretty scared.'

She added that she was most worried to tell her mother, Rosa, and her husband, film producer Kurt Iswarienko.

'My mom is a ridiculously strong courageous human being. So is my husband, but I worry about him,' she said.

Doherty, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 before going into remission in 2017, also opened up about how the recent diagnosis has affected her.

"I definitely have days where I say why me. And then I go, well, why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this? None of us do," she told Robach.

Selena Gomez announces the launch of her own makeup line, Rare Beauty

Selena Gomez has officially added “beauty mogul” to her resumé.

The 27-year-old singer, announced the upcoming launch of her new makeup line, Rare Beauty, on Tuesday, which
is named after her recently-released album Rare.

“Guys, I’ve been working on this special project for two years and can officially say Rare Beauty is launching in @sephora stores in North America this summer!,” Gomez captioned a behind-the-scenes video she shared with her 167 million Instagram followers.

In the sneak peek, Gomez shares a look at lipstick colors, eyeshadows, face products and more from the development phase of the project, which is named after her just-released album. She also created an Instagram account for the brand, which has already shared inspirational quotes like “You are not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment.”

According to WWD, Rare Beauty will be sold exclusively at Sephora in the US, Canada and Mexico as well as on its own website, with plans to expand in 2021.

“We will go globally next year,” Gomez said, hinting that parts of the launch process would be collaborative. “I want your help to build the brand, because I want it to be real — real stories, real people.”

The message behind the brand will be one of inclusivity and uniqueness, according to the brand’s new CEO, Scott Friedman, who has built beauty brands like Bellami and NYX Cosmetics into billion-dollar companies.

“Rare Beauty will challenge society’s definition of beauty that impacts our self worth. It’s time to stop comparing and to start embracing our own uniqueness. Everyone is different — and that’s a good thing,” he told WWD.

Fans have been speculating for quite some time that Gomez would follow in the footsteps of Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, Kesha, Lady Gaga and more celebrities who have branched out into beauty.

In July 2019, the pop singer filed an application to trademark her name in the realm of various beauty products including fragrances, cosmetics, skincare, hair care, soaps, moisturizers and essential oils.

During a recent interview with NPR, Gomez said she was a “victim” of “emotional abuse” during her seven-year on-off relationship with Justin Bieber.

When asked whether she looks back upon her relationship with Bieber as one of the hardest parts of her life, she responded: “It’s dangerous to stay in a victim mentality”.

“And I’m not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse...” she said.

Gomez then agreed with the interviewer that she felt she suffered emotional abuse.

“As much as I definitely don’t want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I’ve ever felt and I’ve found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible,” she said.
