Former Television presenter John Leslie has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub more than ten years ago.
The 54-year-old former Blue Peter and This Morning host from Edinburgh allegedly attacked a 30-year-old woman in 2008 in the Soho area of London.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the news, saying that the Scotsman was informed of the indictment by post in early June.
He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 25 to face the one count of sexual assault.
In June 2017, Leslie was accused of putting his hands down the back of a woman’s trousers while they were dancing in an Edinburgh nightclub.
He was detained and charged, however, Leslie denied the claims and was acquitted a year later following a two-day trial.
